Dr Benedetta Bernardini Research and publishing
Benedetta is a molecular systematist and completed her PhD at the University of Reading and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Her research is primarily focused on the evolutionary relationships of Old World plants.
Dr James W. Byng Research and teaching
James is a widely traveled botanist and completed his PhD at the University of Aberdeen and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He is an accomplished botanical tutor and his research is mainly focused on Old World plants and the classification of vascular plants.
Dr Maarten J. M. Christenhusz Research, teaching & curator
Maarten is an experienced and widely traveled botanist with specialisation in the flora of the Americas and Australasia. Since completing his PhD at Turku University (Finland) in 2007 he has worked at the Natural History Museum (London), Helsinki University Botanical Gardens and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He is the founding editor of Phytotaxa and is involved in the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group and higher classification of non-flowering vascular plants. He is also the Curator of Plant Gateway’s herbarium (PG).
Samantha Jones Administrator and secretary
Samantha has a background in education and social work, combined with a lifelong love of nature.
Andrew Morton MSc. Communications and publishing
Andrew is a production editor with two successful magazines and coordinates websites for several organisations. He has undertaken botanical fieldwork in Madagascar, the Comores, the Mascarenes and the Seychelles.
Tom Byng Finance
Tom is a chartered accountant (ACA) and chartered tax adviser (CTA) with over fourteen years’ experience. He is a Tax Partner at MHA MacIntyre Hudson, having previously worked at Deloitte for over a decade.
